The Salomon story begins in 1947, when Georges Salomon, a visionary and ingenious man, opened a small workshop manufacturing wood saws and ski edges in Annecy, France.

Taking a keen interest in the development of skiing as a leisure activity in the surrounding mountain villages that were beginning to equip themselves with ski lifts, Georges Salomon decided to innovate. His company then took a decisive turn by developing automatic machines that could produce ski edges in large quantities, thus meeting the growing demand from winter sports enthusiasts.
